GENERAL PRINCIPLES

According to the "Regulation on Transfer, Double Major, Minor and Credit Transfer Between Associate and Undergraduate Level Programs in Higher Education Institutions" published in the Official Gazette No. 27561 dated 24.04.2010, and the provisions of the "Gazi University Interinstitutional Horizontal Transfer Directive for Associate and Undergraduate Programs," students applying for interinstitutional horizontal transfer to our university must meet the following criteria and minimum conditions.

  1. The student must be registered or on leave in a diploma program at the time of application.

  3. The student's Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) must be at least 3.25/4.00 to apply for horizontal transfer. If the transcript does not show the CGPA in a 4-point scale, the conversion table accepted by the Council of Higher Education will be used.
  4. The student applying for horizontal transfer must have no disciplinary penalties.
  5. Horizontal transfer applications to associate degree programs are only accepted for 2nd-year 3rd semester (Fall semester).
  6. Applications from evening programs to regular programs require the student to be within the top 10% of their class and program.
  7. For diploma programs requiring talent exams, successful completion of the talent exam is also required for horizontal transfer.
  8. Students applying for transfer to programs where the medium of instruction is fully or partially a foreign language must meet foreign language proficiency requirements evaluated by the School of Foreign Languages. Registrations will not be made for students who fail to demonstrate proficiency.
  9. Applications submitted after the deadline, by fax, or with incomplete or unsigned documents will not be accepted.
  10. According to Article 2 of Law No. 1325 concerning Military Schools, Military Students, Military Factories, and Some Regulations: “Military students enrolled in faculties or vocational schools cannot change their departments/programs or transfer horizontally to another institution.”
  11. Results of horizontal transfer applications (main and substitute candidate lists), registration dates, and required documents will be announced on the official website of the Student Affairs Department. No separate written notification will be sent and application documents will not be returned.

Application Dates
Start End
16.07.2025 (08:30) 18.07.2025 (17:00)

NOTE: Application evaluations will be done by the student affairs and adaptation commissions of the relevant academic units. Please contact the academic unit where you applied for further information.

EVALUATION AND PLACEMENT

Applications are evaluated based on the formula below to calculate the Evaluation Score (DEP):

DEP = [(Z/Y) × CGPA]

Z = Central placement score of the student in the year they enrolled in the university,

Y = Central placement base score of the program applied to in the year the student enrolled in the university.

Candidates with DEP scores of 3.25 and above are ranked from highest to lowest. In case of equal scores, priority is given based on CGPA, then Z, then Z/Y. If still equal, a draw is held.
